There are small margins. Austria could have had a penalty on another day and that's always the risk when you're only winning by one goal: it's just one situation away from being a different story.

Nathan: I thought Millie Bright was absolute class & Mary Earps too with some crucial stops towards the end. But, most spiriting was seeing so many girls in the stands having the time of their lives & cheering on their heroes. Come on England! #Lionesses

What I like about Sarina is that she knows, straight away about this England team, that there's more to come. They were sloppy in some areas and sometimes you need to put your foot on the ball, connect a and regain the momentum.

Credit where it's due: England put the ball in the net and took the points home. They're on their way and let's hope there are a lot of congratulations going on, there's a lot of positive reinforcement for a job well done.
A lot of the basics could have been better in of selection and handling those intricate moments when the momentum starts to shift. Ultimately, Sarina Wiegman will be happy to come out on the big occasion with a win.

There's lots of anticipation going into the tournament. It's about getting the job done and that's what they did. You want to feel the energy in your body and get it out your system.
This is tournament football, you don't want to see them peaking too soon. They will go up a gear.
You want to get on the pitch and deliver. That's where the nerves come and you want to use that. Now they've got that out of their system, you'll see England more relaxed now.

Staying consistent, being an eight [out of 10] all the time - not being a nine and then being a four - is what makes the difference at international level for these players.

Millie Bright was phenomenal and found the diagonal es. Millie could perform at left centre-back and switch with Leah Williamson. I feel like she's better positioned to open up and play the diagonals.

England captain Leah Williamson to BBC Two: "What an occasion. The fans came out. We connected well. It was a good start to the tournament. Three points is all I care about.
"It was pretty special. I had no idea what to expect. We embraced it really well. I kept my eyes closed during the national anthem. If I’d
looked at mum I’d have started crying, if I got too involved. I kept it at bay.
"It’s loud. Communication becomes harder. At times it gets in the way
but I’d take that any day. There was a great atmosphere. You don’t have to be at your best in the first
game. You can grow. Points on the board are the most important thing.
"We have things to work on which gives you something to strive
for.
"The way we’ve been playing, we’ve put in some really good
performances. We did well with the pressure and everything around it.
"100% [we should have scored more]. This England team has so much talent. That's something to work
on in next game. We started settling into it. We’ve dealt with pressure and expectation
and it’s over now. It's a good start."
