Before ing the BBC in 2014, Alex was a reporter for four years covering the Black Country for the six daily editions of the Express & Star newspaper.
His ability to manipulate data was first honed during a three-month BBC attachment in 2016 shining a light on the s of the 92 clubs in the Premier League and English Football League, manually entering 18,785 individual pieces of information to build a giant database.
Away from the office, Alex plays cricket, darts, football and hockey for fun. He s West Bromwich Albion and likes cooking too. He speaks French and German increasingly poorly.
